Water Activities
Barnum Whitewater Area
North Branch Fishing
The North Branch is considered to be one of the best trout fishing areas. Rainbow and Brown trout are both found here. This area is home to small-mouth bass as well. Fly fishermen will love to hop in their waders and cast a line out!
Kayaking
Enjoy a slow float down the North Branch and experience the natural beauty surrounding the river.
Whitewater Release Dates
The Army Corps of Engineers releases water from the dam creating Class 1,2, or 3 rapids.

Primitive-Style Camping
Barnum offers 10 cabins to rent. Reservations are made through Mineral County Parks and Recreation. This area offers a lighted bathroom facility without running water.
Jennings Randolph Lake
Shaw Beach
Shaw Beach is a beautiful 200-foot beach with amenities like picnic tables, washrooms, and changing rooms.
Rock Formation
Come see Waffle Rock! Learn the theories behind this strange rock formation. Located at the Visitor's Center.
Fishing & Boating
Jennings is known for being the place to go if you enjoy walleye fishing. There are boat launches on each side of the lake with parking!
Family Area
Enjoy stunning views of the lake from the Howell Run Picnic Area. If the kids get tired of the lake, they can enjoy a playground as well.
